I) We prefer to
"see" a sermon
“Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest
thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou
steal? Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery,
dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit
sacrilege?” (Rom.2:21-22) We prefer to "see" a sermon rather than
listening to it. In every domains, example has a greater impact
that it be for good or for evil. Celestial Church of christ demands
from all its true members good examples of Chistian life. They will be blessed for that. II ) Give a good
example of humility
the prophet-pastor Samuel OSCHOFFA would often say
:"walk over me and I will ask you to forgive me" and that our
Religion is one of tolerance. Jesus Christ humility led him to the Cross, to death
“He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his
shearer, so opened he not his mouth:In his humiliation his judgment was taken
away. (The Acts 8:32-33) If you are not humble you won't be able to walk with
the Lord III) Be patient
The lord exhorts us to patience in all circonstances
and towards all men. "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his
mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he
suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth
righteously” (1Peter 2:22-23). Be patient towards anywone: members of your family,
strangers, your brothers and sisters in Christ, members of other religions,
sick people, older people, those who suffer, because suffering makes them
like children. "Patience, patience would say P. Valery: each
atom of silence has a chance to become a ripe fruit" iV) Give a good example
of work
"I must work the works of him that sent me,
while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work” (John 9:4) "Thus, my beloved brothers, be strong and
unflinching ,doing little by little and better and better the Lord's
work and knowing that your work won't be vain in the eyes of the Lord" V) Be courageous
He who strives to please men cannot really be in
harmony with Gods' oracles. You must have the courage of preaching truth and
exposing abuses without waiting for anyone's approval. One cannot preach if one does not
accept "all of God' s advice" (The Acts 20;27). In his own time, the Lord Jesus has not wavered one
second to expose the hypocits in rigorous and stern terms. He would
say:" Woes to you, hypocritical Pharisees" . You who has an important position in the Church, of
all people , you must be courageous. It would be without price for us to run to the see
and the earth to evangelize new people who by our fault would
become sons of the Gehenne. “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true,
whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things
are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report;
if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these thing” (Phil 4:8). VI) Self control
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman
that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (II
Tim 2:15) We must control our bodies. It is not always easy.
But we must not let the Flesh be our ruin and our complete defeat. If we do
not control our feelings and our sesires, we will go to the fire of the
Gehenne instead of getting the wreath of glory. The cigarette slaves, those who are addicted
to smoking, and drugs, and the drunk are not fit to be members of
the celestial church of christ. In the Psalms, It is said :" Who shall ascend
into the hill of the LORD? or who
shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath
not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.“ (Ps 24;3-4) You must keep yourself pure and do it for
yourself (Tim5:22) VII) Keep sanctification
Our duty towards God is to sanctify ourselfves. We
must keep our souls and our heart pure. Nest to a weel,Jesus taught the
Samaritan woman that :" God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must
worship him in spirit and in truth” (John : 4:24) You who has received the gift of preaching, preach freely and without
afterthoughts. You who has received the gift of fortelling, foretlle freely,
But before God and before Man you must the oracles of the
Eternal as they are told to you and without andy change. You who sing, do not sing to be seen by Man. but sing with love
to glorify God with a sincere heart. And your song will rise to the Throne of
the King of kings. You who pray, do not do like hypocrits who love to show themselves in the
temple and in the corner of the streets. But pray your Father in the secret
of your heart and your Father who sees all will reward you (Math 6:5) When you do alms, a voluntary gift... do not blow the horn to
advertise it.You must do alms in secret (Math 6:2) Concerning spiritual gifts, Jesus would say to the
apostles: " And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of
heaven is at hand. Heal the
sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received,
freely give. “ (Math 10:7-8) - Do not try to make a profit out of a healing that
you have not given. You have only been the instrument in the hand of the
Eternal, who is the one who has done the healing. Show like Elysea that in the Church there
still are true prophets of God When Elysea , man of Gog learned that the king of
Israel had torn his clothes, he sent a message to the king" why have
you torn your clothes? let him come to me and he will know that there is a
prophet in Israel "(II Kings 5: 15-16) And he refused all the presents of Naaman, the
syrian. whom he had healed from leprosy. Do not be like Guehazi, Elysea, servant who brought
to him the Eternal's curse for tow talents and two pieces of clothing
received from the healed leper. God made him a leper with all his
descendents. In the church of celestial christianism, it is not
allowed to take clothes, money, ewes, oxen or presents of any kind for a gift
that we have received for free . - “Love not the world, neither the things that are
in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in
him. For all that
is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:
but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” (1John 2:15-17) " Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for
whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh
reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap
life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due
season we shall reap, if we faint not”. (Gal 6:7-9) If we follow the teaching of Jesus, we will let
our light glow. " Ye are the
light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a
bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the
house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may
see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. "(Math
5:14-16) " Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give
thee a crown of life “ (Rev. 2 10) |
